This adaptor lets a number of Plantronics headsets connect via USB socket to work with Skype, Facetime and the like. Thus the same high quality headset can work on your phone or on your computer with the change of a plug. Plug and play: my Mac recognized it instantly in the Sound preferences panel which made connection painless. Sound quality was excellent coming and going; volume and mute controls in the cord are convenient. Four stars instead of 5 only because of the price.

A number of us migrated from Cisco 7900 series phones to MS Lync. The Product Manager for our company on headsets only provided new items at a significant cost. Those folks that already had the PLantronics Supra Wide Band headsets wanted to still use them because of the quality. This was a viable option to continue to use them.

I bought this to adapt my HW301N headset to my laptop for our business's Unified Communications System (VoIP), and still be able to quick disconnect and switch to our Cisco 79xx series desk sets. The ease of installation is fantastic in Windows 7. The audio quality is amazing when mated to the HW301N headset. Even the call, volume, and mute buttons worked without installing any software. Thanks for another great product, Plantronics.
